Connoisseurs Day

What better than a day shooting and fishing with great food thrown in!

9 a.m.

Breakfast before the Clay Shooting and Fishing Arrive for tea & coffee. Choose from a traditional English breakfast all sourced from quality local produce or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. And you can say hello to the hens that laid your eggs!

9:30 a.m.

Split into two teams, one for shooting and one for fishing. The fishing team will be escorted on a short mini-bus ride to the lake.

Shooting
3-hour morning or 3-hour afternoon session

Clay Shooting Instruction Starts with a safety briefing and gun fit. This is followed by about 30 practice shots on varying targets. If you've shot before our instructors will polish and hone your skills to a greater level. If you've never shot before our very experienced instructors will have you hitting the targets on a regular basis. After a refreshment break we finish up with a 20 shot competition. You may of course use your own gun if you wish but otherwise all equipment is provided.

Fishing
3-hour morning or 3-hour afternoon session

LakeSet in a stunning location and stocked with quality rainbow and brown trout. Your lines will be set up ready for you to start and with a choice of flies. Our instructor will give you a brief lesson then circulate as you fish to give extra tips and instruction. Accurate presentation of the fly will get you that fish rather than casting long distances. Again, if you have a favourite rod you may like to bring it along with you. If not, then everything is provided.

1:30 p.m.

Buffet The 2 teams meet at the fishing lake for a generous buffet lunch. Find out how the other team got on and get your strength up for the afternoon!

2:30 p.m.

The teams swap activities for the afternoon.

6:30 p.m.

Prize-Giving Meet up at the shooting venue for a celebratory glass of champagne and prize-giving for the winning team, top gun and best fish.

Evening

Finish off a perfect day with a 3-course evening meal and accommodation at the lovely old Tudor farmhouse, Common Leys Farm.

A select group of 8 would be an ideal number However if you have a larger group then the ratio of instructors will be no less than 1:5.
